Elena Zaiats is an artist working within the field of conceptual art. She lives and works in Valencia, Spain.
She was born in 1986 in Dnipro (Ukraine). She studied painting at an art school and later pursued academic drawing in the private studio of Yuriy Ivashyn.
Her early practice is rooted in the tradition of painting, which shaped her attentive approach to form and image. Her works are held in private collections in Ukraine, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
A turning point came with her forced emigration in 2022: movement between Turkey, the Balkans, and Spain established a new direction in her artistic research. The experience of rupture, adaptation, and prolonged movement across different cultural contexts became the foundation of her current practice.
Today, Zaiats works with themes of the female archetype, identity, and the transformation of the subject within conditions of instability. Her projects explore how the female figure is redefined through the experience of migration, loss, and the reconfiguration of cultural codes.
